12 Gates – Band Biography
12 Gates is a powerful four-piece rock band built on the raw spirit of grunge, but shaped by a much wider sonic universe. Their sound is a heavy and emotional fusion of alternative rock, progressive rock, and metal. Also contains unexpected elements of classic rock, blues, and even subtle touches of classical music. The result is an intense, atmospheric, and highly dynamic style that constantly shifts between darkness, groove, melody, and pure aggression.
Formed out of a deep love for music — and an even deeper bond between its members — 12 Gates grew naturally from years of friendship and collaboration through various projects. Each member brings a unique personality and musical background, but together they operate like a single engine: loud, focused, and unpredictable.
12 Gates – The Lineup
At the heart of the band is Scarzzy, serving as the lead vocalist and guitarist, as well as the primary creative force and visionary behind the project. Often described as the “main gear in the motor,” Scarzzy fuels the band’s direction with a constant flow of ideas, concepts, and energy — driving 12 Gates like a supersonic machine somewhere between a muscle car and a warplane.
On guitar and backing vocals is Neša, widely recognized as one of the best guitar players in Serbia. Known for his work with Queen Sensation (Queen tribute band), Neša brings technical precision, stage power, and melodic sense that elevates the band’s sound into something far beyond typical grunge foundations.
Behind the drums is Yeqy, a drummer known for his brutal power, control, and intensity. His reputation extends far outside the local scene — he has been trusted to perform alongside legendary names, including being engaged during performances in Serbia connected to artists such as Max Cavalera and Paul Di’Anno, which speaks for itself.
Holding the low end is Domingez on bass guitar, providing the foundation and groove that keeps the band grounded while allowing the music to explode in every direction. His playing adds weight, movement, and character, completing the band’s sound with the kind of bass presence that can be felt as much as it can be heard.
The Sound
12 Gates draws inspiration from some of the most iconic bands in rock history, including Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses, and Queen. However, their music is not a tribute to any single influence — it is a new creation, formed by combining everything the band members love into a unique sonic identity.
Heavy riffs, haunting harmonies, progressive arrangements, and emotional vocals collide with groove-driven rhythms and surprising melodic passages. Classical influences occasionally appear in unexpected ways, woven through the songs almost like hidden messages, giving the band’s sound a distinctive depth and cinematic feeling.
The Album
Currently, 12 Gates is working on their debut album — a record they describe as something that hasn’t been heard in the region before, both in energy and artistic ambition. The band is in the songwriting and production phase, shaping an album of 8 to 10 tracks, planned for release in late spring or early summer.
The upcoming material is bold, heavy, and unpredictable — built to surprise both casual listeners and serious rock fans. The band is confident this album will be a true statement and a major step forward, not only for 12 Gates, but for the modern rock scene as a whole.
12 Gates –The Meaning Behind the Name
The name 12 Gates was created by Scarzzy and carries a strong symbolic meaning. It refers to the “Second Coming Of Our Lord Jesus Christ” and Twelve Gates of the New Jerusalem, a powerful biblical image tied to prophecy and spiritual transformation. It also reflects the twelve sons of Abraham and the twelve tribes of Israel, connecting the band’s identity to themes of legacy, destiny, and rebirth.
In the band’s philosophy, the “twelve gates” represent both a passage and a challenge — a doorway into something greater, unknown, and inevitable.
The Mission
12 Gates is not just a band — it’s a creative force built on trust, brotherhood, and the desire to create something honest, loud, and unforgettable. Their mission is simple: to make music that feels alive, dangerous, emotional, and timeless.
Something is coming.
And it will not sound familiar.
The First Gate is opened
